Boise Airport Trips

Boise Airport Driver Requirements

ByRyde drivers operating at Boise Airport must comply with all Airport rules, traffic regulations, ByRyde requirements, and the designated pickup, drop-off, and staging procedures.

Drivers must use only airport-approved areas for ByRyde operations.

Before Entering Boise Airport

Make sure:

  • Your ByRyde Driver app is active.
  • Your vehicle information in the app is current.
  • Your license plate matches the vehicle registered with ByRyde.
  • You have all documents required to operate your vehicle.
  • Your vehicle insurance is current.
  • Your vehicle is safe and in proper operating condition.

The Airport Operating Agreement requires drivers to maintain automobile insurance and be able to provide evidence of required documentation when requested by an authorized Airport representative or law-enforcement officer.

Waiting for an Airport Ride Request

Drivers waiting for an airport trip must use the designated ByRyde / TNC Waiting (Staging) Area.

Do Not Wait at the Terminal

You may not park or wait at the passenger pickup or drop-off curb while waiting for a ride request.

Remain in the approved staging area until you receive an eligible airport pickup request.

The operating agreement specifically directs drivers who are waiting for passengers to use the approved staging area rather than loiter at the curbside pickup or drop-off areas.

Driver Staging Area

The designated Waiting / Staging Area is shown on the airport map near the W. Apollo St / W. Lockheed Ln area.

When staging:

  • Stay within the approved staging area.
  • Keep your ByRyde Driver app operating as required.
  • Follow posted signs and airport instructions.
  • Do not block entrances, exits, streets, or neighboring businesses.
  • Do not solicit riders.
  • Do not arrange rides outside the ByRyde app.

Airport Pickup Procedure

After receiving a valid ByRyde airport pickup request:

1. Accept the trip in the ByRyde Driver app.

Do not travel to the terminal pickup curb simply to wait for requests.

2. Proceed from the staging area to the terminal.

Follow Airport signs and all traffic-control instructions.

3. Go to the designated Ride Share Pick Up Area.

Location: Upper Level Roadway Curb – East End

Do not pick up passengers from another terminal curb, roadway, parking area, or unauthorized location.

4. Confirm the passenger.

Use the ByRyde app to confirm you have the correct rider before beginning the trip.

5. Load promptly and leave the curb.

The curb is for active loading. Once your rider and luggage are inside the vehicle, leave the pickup area promptly.

The Airport agreement requires drivers to limit curbside time to the time reasonably necessary for passenger loading or unloading.

Airport Drop-Off Procedure

For a ByRyde trip ending at Boise Airport:

  • Follow signs toward the terminal.
  • Proceed to the designated Ride Share Drop Off area.
  • Use the Upper Curb.
  • Stop only long enough for the passenger and luggage to exit.
  • Leave the terminal curb immediately after unloading.

Active unloading only. No waiting or staging at the drop-off curb.

Important Airport Driver Rules

While operating at Boise Airport, ByRyde drivers must not:

  • Pick up or drop off passengers outside designated areas.
  • Solicit passengers.
  • Accept street-hail rides.
  • Arrange cash or off-app airport rides.
  • Remain at the terminal while waiting for ride requests.
  • Block traffic, roadways, sidewalks, crosswalks, entrances, or exits.
  • Park in unauthorized areas.
  • Operate an unsafe vehicle.
  • Ignore Airport officials, law-enforcement officers, posted signs, or traffic-control devices.
  • Provide false information to Airport representatives or police.
  • Use or possess alcohol while on duty.
  • Use or possess illegal drugs while operating at the Airport.
  • Operate without the required driver's license, vehicle registration, insurance, or other legally required credentials.

The agreement includes these and other prohibited driver activities while on Airport property.

No Passenger Solicitation

All ByRyde airport rides must be arranged through the ByRyde platform.

Drivers may not approach passengers inside or outside the terminal asking if they need a ride, distribute unauthorized promotional material, or arrange transportation outside the ByRyde app.

Follow Airport Officials

Drivers must follow directions from:

  • Boise Airport personnel
  • Airport operations staff
  • Law-enforcement officers
  • Traffic-control personnel

Airport rules and traffic restrictions take priority while operating on Airport property.

Your Vehicle and Documents

Drivers are responsible for maintaining the documents required to legally operate their vehicle.

This may include:

  • Valid driver's license
  • Current vehicle registration
  • Current automobile insurance
  • ByRyde-required driver documentation
  • Any Airport-required documentation

The operating agreement specifically requires drivers to maintain automobile liability insurance and provide proof when properly requested.

Airport Geo-Fence

The ByRyde Driver app may use airport geo-fencing to identify when a driver enters, exits, stages at, picks up from, or drops off at Boise Airport.

The Airport agreement requires ByRyde to maintain an Airport geo-fence, and the associated Data Interface Agreement requires transmission of specified trip-event information to the Airport's designated system.

The technical interface identifies event types including:

ENTRY – DROP-OFF – PICK-UP – EXIT

and includes fields related to the trip, vehicle/license plate, timestamp, ride status, longitude, and latitude.

Drivers should therefore keep the ByRyde Driver app operating normally while conducting an airport trip.

If Your Rider Is Not Ready

Do not remain parked at the pickup curb for an extended period.

If the rider cannot be located or is not ready:

  • Contact the rider through the ByRyde app.
  • Follow the app's instructions.
  • Leave the curb when required.
  • Return to the designated staging area if appropriate.
  • Do not circle, stop, or park in unauthorized areas.

If You Miss the Pickup Area

Do not:

  • Stop in a traffic lane.
  • Reverse on the roadway.
  • Make an illegal turn.
  • Pick up the rider from an unauthorized curb.

Continue safely through the Airport roadway system and return to the designated pickup location.

Safety Comes First

Drivers must operate carefully and comply with:

  • Posted speed limits
  • Traffic signs
  • Lane markings
  • Pedestrian crossings
  • Airport personnel instructions
  • Law-enforcement instructions

Never stop where doing so would create a safety hazard.

Rider Safety

Before entering a ByRyde vehicle, riders should confirm:

Driver + Vehicle + License Plate

against the information displayed in the ByRyde app.

Never enter a vehicle claiming to be your ByRyde ride if the information does not match your app.
